FEB 1, 2002: American journalist, Daniel Pearl beheaded by Paskistani militants
An event every year that begins at 12:00am on of February, repeating indefinitely
On January 23, 2002, American journalist Danial Pearl was on his way to what he thought would be an interview with the founder of ‘The Muslims of America.’ Instead he was abducted by Pakistani militants, demanding that all Pakistani detainees by released from Guantanamo Bay. and that the halted U.S. shipment of F-16 fighter jets be released to the Pakistani government, to obtain his release.
On this day, in front of a video camera, Pearl stated: “My name is Daniel Pearl. I’m a Jewish American from Encino, California, USA. I come from, uh, on my father’s side the family is Zionist. My father’s Jewish, my mother’s Jewish, I’m Jewish. My family follows Judaism. We’ve made numerous family visits to Israel.” Following his statements, Pearl’s throat was slit and he was beheaded.
Twenty days later, a videotape was released showing the slaughter.
